The Kardashians (see Kim Kardashian and Bruce Jenner) are the ones that usually make headlines, but their mother Kris Jenner has been known to snatch her own set of headlines from time to time.
For instance, in 2011 she had a deal with a company called B&P that was supposed to last through March of 2012.
However, when Kris Jenner underwent plastic surgery on her neck the company sued her, claiming that this surgery reflected poorly on the company’s image. However the ‘momager’ of the Kardashians has decided to fight the suit, and her daughters are standing behind her in this case.
The surgery, which Kris Jenner says was to tighten up her neck in the places that the skin had begun to sag, didn’t actually effect her eyes.
Plastic Surgery Irrelevant?
The argument espoused by the Kardashian side of things appears to be that because the plastic surgery Jenner received was only to alter her neck, and the anti-aging product she was endorsing was meant only to showcase and effect the eyes and area around the eyes, that the fact she had plastic surgery is irrelevant.
Of course that’s a matter for the legal system to decide, since the company seems to be of the opposite opinion.
Cosmetic Surgery Stigma?
This is just one more in a long line of the plastic surgery culture wars.
Does cosmetic surgery actually have a stigma strong enough to completely undermine a company’s reputation if one of their representatives chooses to use it?
Or perhaps the argument is that if someone is using the company’s product for anti-aging and beauty circumstances then they shouldn’t need surgery on top of that?
This legal battle is actually a good representative of how the Hollywood gossip mill has shaped opinion of cosmetic surgery, despite the fact that classic beauties like Marilyn Monroe used it, the public still hates it.
