Buying Beauty on Loan? Pay Day Loans for Plastic Surgery in UK
Plastic surgery is a big investment; you have to save up the money decide if your body is really up to it, and if what you’re paying for is really what you want.
However, unlike other types of surgery which are meant to save lives, cosmetic surgery is just that; cosmetic.
However, in the UK, there is a disturbing trend of people taking out loans to get plastic surgery and then being unable to pay back the loans.
The trouble began with payday loan websites. Pay day loans are short term loans meant to get you through until your next paycheck, and they come with a hefty interest.
Unsecured Loans
These sites had advertisements for unsecured loans for up to 25,000 pounds. An unsecured loan is one where there’s no collateral to back a borrower, and as a result they tend to be very high risk and come with a hefty interest percentage.
And what makes this worse is that the links for these unsecured loans were showing images of happy, beautiful people out enjoying their lives with money to burn and grabbing life by the tail. Most definitely not people that had thousands of pounds of debt weighing on their shoulders.
Of course this wasn’t just an isolated incident. There are several other websites according to the Daily Mail that suggested people who never had “the look you were craving” should take out loans in order to pay for plastic surgery.
However, Rajiv Grover, the president elect of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons had a very different statement for the public that wanted to change the way it looked:
“If you need a loan for this please don’t have it at all – wait and do this once you have saved up and you are totally in the right frame of mind.”
